These Service Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern all quotations, works, services, and installations provided by Algarve Air & Solar, also trading as The George Air Conditioning & Solar. By instructing Algarve Air & Solar to proceed with an order, accepting a quotation, paying a deposit, or permitting our technicians to commence works, the Client acknowledges and agrees to be legally bound by these Terms in their entirety.
Algarve Air & Solar provides the supply, installation, servicing, and maintenance of air conditioning systems, solar photovoltaic panels, thermosiphon hot water systems, pool heating systems, and underfloor heating solutions. Services may include repairs, replacements, upgrades, consultations, and ongoing maintenance contracts. Quotations are prepared based on the information provided by the Client at the time of inspection or consultation. Should conditions on site differ materially from those described, Algarve Air & Solar reserves the right to amend its quotation, adjust pricing, or recommend additional works to ensure the system functions safely and effectively.
All quotations issued by Algarve Air & Solar are prepared in writing and remain valid for a period of thirty (30) days unless otherwise stated. Quotations are subject to the availability of equipment and materials at the time of order. Any quotation is provided on the assumption that no unforeseen structural, electrical, or environmental issues are present at the property which might materially affect the works. In the event such circumstances are discovered, Algarve Air & Solar shall notify the Client and provide a revised quotation for any additional works required.
In order to secure equipment, materials, and installation dates, Algarve Air & Solar requires a deposit, generally amounting to seventy percent (70%) of the total contract value, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The remaining thirty percent (30%) shall become payable immediately upon completion of the works, regardless of whether minor adjustments, testing, or non-essential finishing items remain outstanding. All equipment supplied by Algarve Air & Solar shall remain the sole property of Algarve Air & Solar until full payment has been received. In the event of non-payment, Algarve Air & Solar reserves the right to withhold commissioning, remove equipment from site, or pursue legal remedies to recover outstanding sums, together with interest and costs.
Where a Client cancels an order after equipment has been ordered or delivered, Algarve Air & Solar reserves the right to retain deposits paid to cover restocking charges, administrative costs, and losses incurred. Should the Client cancel an installation within seven (7) days of the scheduled date, additional cancellation fees may apply to cover labour planning and scheduling costs. Once installation has commenced, no refund shall be available, save where legally required under applicable Portuguese consumer protection law. Service call-outs are chargeable in full once a technician attends site, irrespective of whether repairs are carried out.
Algarve Air & Solar provides a three (3) year warranty covering both products supplied and installation workmanship, unless otherwise expressly stated in writing. Certain manufacturers may provide extended warranties on specific equipment; in such cases, the Client is responsible for registering such warranties directly with the manufacturer and for complying with any associated conditions. Warranty claims shall be void where:
Consumable items such as filters, refrigerant, seals, and gaskets are excluded from warranty coverage.
The Client acknowledges that heating, cooling, and solar systems require regular maintenance to function efficiently and to preserve warranty coverage. Algarve Air & Solar strongly recommends and offers service contracts covering routine inspections, cleaning, and system optimisation. Failure to arrange adequate servicing may result in diminished performance, increased running costs, and invalidation of warranties.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Algarve Air & Solar shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses or damages, including but not limited to property damage, loss of business, income, or enjoyment, arising out of or in connection with the performance or non-performance of the works. Algarve Air & Solar’s liability shall in all circumstances be strictly limited to the cost of repairing or replacing defective equipment supplied and installed by it. Delays caused by supplier shortages, customs controls, weather conditions, strikes, accidents, or other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Algarve Air & Solar shall not give rise to any claim for compensation.
The Client is responsible for ensuring that clear and safe access to the property is provided at all times during the works. The Client shall be responsible for ensuring that adequate electrical supply, water supply, drainage, and structural conditions exist to accommodate the installation. Any permissions, permits, or approvals required from landlords, condominium boards, or municipal authorities shall remain the sole responsibility of the Client. Where access restrictions, obstructions, or unsafe conditions prevent completion of the works, Algarve Air & Solar shall be entitled to charge additional fees for wasted time, return visits, or corrective works.
Algarve Air & Solar operates in strict compliance with health and safety regulations. Should conditions at the Client’s property present a risk to the health or safety of its employees, subcontractors, or agents, Algarve Air & Solar reserves the right to suspend or postpone works until such hazards have been rectified to its satisfaction.
Algarve Air & Solar reserves the right to decline, suspend, or withdraw its services in the event of non-payment, breach of these Terms, unreasonable demands, or abusive behaviour directed at its staff. In such cases, deposits already paid may be forfeited and works terminated without liability.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Faro, Portugal.
At Algarve Air & Solar, we strive to provide our clients with high-quality products, installations, and services. This Refund Policy outlines the circumstances under which refunds may or may not be issued. By placing an order with us, making payment, or requesting services, you agree to the terms below.
All deposits are used to secure equipment, schedule installations, and cover administrative costs. Deposits are non-refundable once equipment has been ordered, unless Algarve Air & Solar is unable to deliver the agreed service for reasons solely attributable to us. In such rare cases, a full or partial refund may be issued at our discretion.
If a client cancels an order before equipment has been ordered, Algarve Air & Solar may refund any deposit paid, less a reasonable administrative charge.
If cancellation occurs after equipment has been ordered or delivered, deposits will be retained in full to cover restocking charges, transport, and handling.
Once installation or service works have commenced, no refund shall be issued. The client remains liable for the full contract price, even if they request that works be stopped, unless otherwise required by Portuguese consumer protection law.
Service call-out fees are non-refundable once a technician has attended the property, regardless of whether a repair is completed. Where a part is ordered specifically for a repair, the cost of that part is non-refundable once ordered.
If equipment supplied by Algarve Air & Solar is found to be defective within the warranty period, our responsibility is limited to repair or replacement of the faulty component in line with our Service Terms & Conditions and the relevant manufacturer’s warranty. Refunds are not provided for equipment faults unless required under Portuguese law.
Where equipment is specifically ordered, customised, or manufactured for a client, refunds will not be available once the order has been placed.
Where a refund is approved, it will be processed via the same method of original payment, unless otherwise agreed in writing. Refunds may take up to 14 business days to appear, depending on banking processes.
Nothing in this Refund Policy affects your statutory rights under Portuguese or EU consumer protection law. Clients may have rights to refunds, replacements, or repairs under such legislation, and this policy should be read alongside those legal protections.
